A Branded Advent Calendar Designed to Delight Beauty Lovers

The result was the Charlotte Tilbury branded advent calendar for 2020 — a 12-day countdown filled with a curated selection of makeup, skincare, and fragrance favourites. Each drawer revealed a new product, thoughtfully chosen to reflect the brand’s core offerings and bestsellers. This included everything from glow-boosting serums to volumising mascaras and signature lip shades.

Unlike mass-produced traditional advent calendars, this edition was designed with exclusivity in mind. Rather than offering 24 lower-value items, Charlotte Tilbury focused on 12 impactful products, many in deluxe or full-size formats. This strategic approach aligned with the brand’s focus on quality, not quantity, and made the calendar a coveted piece among beauty enthusiasts and collectors alike.

The advent calendar quickly became a centrepiece in Charlotte Tilbury’s holiday campaign. It was widely shared across social media, featured in unboxing videos, and highlighted by influencers and media outlets. As a promotional advent calendar, it not only drove direct sales but also amplified brand visibility during the most competitive season of the year.

Custom Advent Calendar Structure with Luxury Presentation

Built to impress, the calendar was crafted using 2mm rigid board for the outer shell, offering strength and durability. Measuring 270mm wide, 160mm deep, and 255mm high, the format gave it a strong shelf presence while remaining compact enough to feel elegant and giftable. A hinged magnetic flap opened from the top, with satin ribbons holding the lid open to create a graceful, gift-like reveal — an important aspect of the luxurious advent calendar experience.

Inside, a 3mm rigid board tray housed 12 individual compartments, each designed to cradle a product securely. With an internal tray depth of 30mm, there was ample space to accommodate a variety of product types and sizes, from pots and palettes to vials and tubes. This internal structure was engineered to provide visual balance while also ensuring safe transport and unboxing.

To match the brand’s aesthetic, the calendar was wrapped in custom printed paper with a shimmering gold and silver foil overlay — a hallmark of high-end advent calendar printing. The foil highlighted both the logo and subtle decorative elements across the calendar surface, giving it a luminous finish that stood out among other seasonal packaging. Structural Design and Decorative Finishes Set the Calendar Apart

What truly made this custom advent calendar exceptional was its attention to structural design. Instead of a standard square or rectangular shape, the calendar featured a modern hexagonal profile — with angled edges that gave it a sculptural, display-worthy look. Larger drawers measured 150mm x 110mm x 30mm, while smaller ones measured 150mm x 72mm x 30mm. The bottom drawer increased in height to 45mm, allowing for taller or bulkier items to be featured in the final reveal.

Some compartments included custom folding box board fitments to hold smaller products in place, while others were lined with bronze paper to enhance the unboxing experience. The layout also featured a two-tier effect — with a hexagonal insert placed inside the lid to conceal the ribbons and add dimension. These subtle yet effective enhancements elevated the overall aesthetic and demonstrated the power of smart structural packaging.
