Navien, a respected manufacturer in the UK heating industry, is known for designing and producing high-performance gas and condensing oil boilers. With over 40 years of innovation and product excellence, the company has built a strong reputation for reliability and quality. As part of their 2023 holiday outreach, Navien partnered with Magellan to create a traditional advent calendar and supporting seasonal print materials that reflected the brand’s appreciation for their clients and customers.

The goal was to deliver festive cheer in the form of a high-quality, custom-designed branded advent calendar, complete with a Christmas card and mailer for each recipient. Combining thoughtful design, fast production, and festive practicality, this campaign provided an engaging way for Navien to reinforce relationships and celebrate the season in style.

Traditional Advent Calendar with Festive Branding and Premium Chocolate

Navien’s traditional advent calendars were designed to offer a joyful countdown to Christmas while keeping branding at the forefront. Each calendar featured 25 solid milk chocolates, suitable for vegetarians, kosher, and halal diets — making the gift inclusive and enjoyable for a wide audience. The calendar was digitally printed in vibrant full colour with precision-cut perforated windows for a smooth daily unboxing experience.

The front featured a clean, festive design incorporating repeated Navien logos, while the reverse showcased a more detailed image that communicated the brand’s identity and values. This two-sided printing approach allowed for clear brand storytelling while maintaining a seasonal aesthetic. With a shelf life of 12 months and a lightweight structure (200mm x 275mm x 10mm, 75g), the calendar was both practical and impactful — ideal for direct mailing.

As an experienced advent calendar manufacturer, Magellan handled the entire process in-house — including the chocolate production, calendar printing, packing, labelling, and fulfilment. This streamlined workflow ensured fast turnaround and consistent quality across all 1,400 units.

Custom Christmas Cards and Coordinated Corporate Packaging

In addition to the custom advent calendar, Navien wanted each recipient to receive a premium branded Christmas card as part of the package. The A5 landscape cards matched the festive theme of the calendar but featured a more extravagant and visually rich design to create a standout first impression upon opening.

Each card was printed using four-colour process on both sides and finished with a gloss laminate to the front for added vibrancy and protection. Produced on Scancote Elegance premium paper, the cards were scored, folded, and trimmed to size for a refined finish. Inserted neatly into the outer mailer, the card sat atop the calendar to create a polished, two-piece holiday gift set.

By combining corporate branded advent calendars with premium cards and tailored messaging, Navien delivered more than just a seasonal gesture — they offered a memorable unboxing experience. These materials worked seamlessly together to promote brand loyalty, build customer goodwill, and present Navien as a forward-thinking company that values thoughtful connection.
