This luxury spot UV beauty advent calendar was designed to present a curated collection of skincare, haircare, makeup, fragrance and personal-care products. Its combination of 25 custom drawers, premium printed artwork and specialist finishes created an engaging daily reveal and an attractive display piece for the festive season.

The varied compartments allowed different product formats to be housed within one cohesive structure. Coordinated artwork across the exterior panels and internal drawers completed the presentation, making the calendar suitable for beauty retailers, product discovery collections and seasonal gifting campaigns.

The calendar was designed around the experience of daily product discovery, with each numbered compartment introducing a new item while keeping the remaining collection concealed. Its substantial format also gave it a strong presence in photography, retail displays and seasonal marketing content.

Bespoke Rigid Board Construction

The calendar was manufactured from 2mm rigid board to provide the strength required for a collection of differently sized beauty products. Its construction included a four-sided internal tray surrounded by a dual-panel outer casing, which protected the drawers and provided a large surface for custom artwork.

The internal calendar dimensions measured 320mm wide × 350mm high × 150mm deep. Opening the two outer panels revealed the complete drawer arrangement and created a gradual unboxing experience.

Rigid board helped the calendar retain its shape during packing, transportation and repeated use. It also gave the finished packaging a substantial weight and premium feel that would be difficult to achieve with a lightweight folding carton.

The smooth, stable panels provided a suitable base for detailed printing and specialist finishes. The depth of the structure also created sufficient room for a varied collection without making the internal arrangement feel overcrowded.

25 Custom Drawers for Beauty Collections

The interior contained 25 individually numbered drawers made from 1000-micron rigid board and wrapped in premium printed paper. Each drawer was lined for a refined finish, while integrated finger notches provided easy access to the products.

Several drawer formats were used to accommodate skincare, cosmetics, haircare, miniature fragrances, body care and beauty accessories.

Internal drawer dimensions:

  • Standard drawers — Days 3, 5–9, 11–14, 17–21, 23 and 24: 150mm × 48mm × 65mm
  • Large drawers — Days 4, 10, 16 and 25: 150mm × 100mm × 65mm
  • Day 1: 200mm × 150mm × 30mm
  • Days 2 and 15: 150mm × 100mm × 30mm

This flexible structure made the calendar suitable for beauty retailers, skincare and haircare companies, fragrance collections, online marketplaces and multi-brand discovery campaigns. The same approach could also be adapted for 12-day, 24-day or 25-day calendars.

Spot UV Printing and Metallic Foil Details

The rigid board structure was wrapped in full-colour printed paper with a predominantly matte finish. Selective spot UV varnish highlighted elements of the pattern, creating controlled areas of shine and a tactile contrast against the surrounding surface.

Metallic foil was applied to the drawer numbers and selected design details. The reflective finish helped key elements stand out while reinforcing the premium character of the calendar.

Combining full-colour printing, matte surfaces, spot UV and metallic foil added depth without making the packaging appear overly glossy. Coordinating these finishes across the exterior, internal panels and drawer fronts also created a consistent design throughout the countdown.
